I am having an issue connecting my printer to computer and the phone cia the HP-Smart App.

I used to be able to print from both.  And now the Hp-Smart app is recognizing the printer as “offline” while the blue button on the printer itself is showing a solid blue color and internet shows it is connected on the icon on printer itself.

When trying to add the Printer back onto the HP-Smart app it states to add the device (computer or phone, I have been trying both) to connect to the internet that states “HP-Desk 2700 Series”

and at this point it asks for a password.

I did not save the pages that were printed out when I initially set the printer up over a year ago.

Please help me.

@JeanetteP57

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I believe you are trying to connect to the wi-fi direct network of the printer and it's asking for the wi-fi direct password.

Try the default password as 12345678.

If it doesn't work then provide the below details:

  • Could you share the screen where it's asking for the password?

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
