Hello I recently brought an HP Envy 6020e from amazon and was wondering is it worth keeping the printer powered 247 or unplugging it when not needed? Will it ruin the printer unplugging it everytime its not needed?
My previous printer was a cannon and that allowed it to be unplugged after each use.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
When the printer is left on and plugged in and the printer is not being used, the printer enters a low-power state. It is "sleeping". While asleep, the printer uses very little power -- the printer might wake up on occasion if it needs to run self-maintenance.
Unless there is a very good reason removing the printer from its power source, unplugging is unnecessary, increases the "wear and tear" on the printer mechanics, and prevents the printer from taking care of its self-maintenance, including any maintenance designed to keep the ink supply in working order.
Unplugging the printer requires the full power-on cycle that runs when the printer is switched on and might increase ink usage.
If your network is slightly unstable or configured incorrectly, shutting off the printer and unplugging it increases the chances of the printer losing the connection to the network when the printer is finally switched on.
If you have enabled HP+ service, switching off (and unplugging) the printer disrupts the required connection to the Internet that is mandated in the HP+ service. Enough of the on / off or too much "off time" and the disruption will cause the printer to break connection with HP+ and stop printing.
Unplugging the printer does protect the printer from unstable power sources, unprotected power surges (or drops), and from electrical fires caused by a bad wall outlet.
