HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer

My HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 printer is offline to one PC but not the other.

I have tried the following:

Stopped the print spooler
Checked Windows>System32>Spool>PRINTERS
Folder was empty
Restarted the print spooler
Printer is still offline
Tried to uninstall the printer
Printer cannot be uninstalled

I ran the troubleshooter. It said the printer was turned off but it was not.

I have tried powering down the affected PC, router, and printer then turning them back on but the problem persists.

I have noticed an anomaly.  When I send a print job to the printer and click the printer icon instead of the printer the print queue appearing windows file explorer opens instead.

Please advise what to do next.

Hi @Ray_1942,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you've already tried several troubleshooting steps. Let's go through a few more potential solutions to resolve the issue.

Check Printer Connection:

  • Make sure that the printer is connected to the same network as the affected PC.
  • Verify the physical connections (USB, Ethernet, or wireless) between the printer and the PC.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on the PC facing the issue.
  • You can download the latest drivers from the official HP website.

Set Printer as Default:

  • Go to "Control Panel" > "Devices and Printers."
  • Right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 and select "Set as default printer."

Check Printer Status:

  • On the PC, open the "Devices and Printers" window.
  • Right-click on the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 and make sure it's set as the default printer.
  • Ensure that it's set to "Use Printer Online" if there's an option for that.

Disable File and Printer Sharing:

  • Sometimes, file and printer sharing issues can cause problems. Temporarily disable it and check if the issue persists.

Reinstall Printer with Print Management:

  • Open the "Print Management" console on the affected PC.
  • Navigate to "All Drivers" and remove any drivers related to the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015.
  • Reinstall the printer using the correct driver.

Check for Software Conflicts:

  • Temporarily disable any security software or firewall on the PC and check if it resolves the issue.

Check Print Queue:

  • Open the print queue on the PC and ensure there are no stuck print jobs. Cancel any pending print jobs.

TCP/IP Port Configuration:

  • Remove the printer and add it again using a TCP/IP port. This can help in cases where there's a communication issue.
  • Follow the steps in the printer installation wizard to add a printer using a TCP/IP port.

Registry Check:

  • Be cautious while editing the registry. Backup the registry before making changes.
  • Check if there are any registry entries related to the printer causing the issue. Remove them if necessary.

After trying these steps, restart the PC and check if the issue is resolved.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
