My NEW HP Envy 6555e all in one printer is constantly going offline. I have to unplug and replug it in every single time. This is NOT RIGHT! What is the permanent fix for this problem?

Hi @MeQueenBe,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

Try these steps:
Restart the Printer and Computer
- Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
- Restart your computer to clear any potential problems.
Check Printer Connection
Ensure that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or mobile device:
- On the printer control panel, access the Wireless or Setup menu to view the network connection status.
- If the printer is not connected, reconnect it to the Wi-Fi network.
Set the Printer to Online Status
- Open the Control Panel of your computer.
- Navigate to Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP Envy 6555e printer and select See what's printing.
- In the new window, click Printer and make sure Use Printer Offline is not checked.
- If it is checked, click to uncheck it and set the printer to online status.
Configure Printer IP Address
- Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer to obtain its IP address.
- Open a web browser and type the printer's IP address into the URL bar, and press Enter.
- Log into the printer's EWS (Embedded Web Server).
- Navigate to the Network or Wireless settings.
- Assign a static IP address to the printer that is not in the DHCP range of your router.
Update Printer Firmware
- Ensure your printer and computer are connected to the internet.
- Go to HP Customer Support and search for "HP Envy 6555e".
- Download and install any available firmware updates for your printer.
Check for Printer Driver Issues
- Go to HP Customer Support for drivers and software.
- Download and install the latest full feature printer driver for your printer model.
- Restart your computer after installation.
I hope this helps.

I have had similar problems for a few weeks. I have some suggestions. I have an Envy 6555e.
In your router's settings, assign a static IP address to the printer. Dynamic IP addresses are for restaurants and airports. If the router decides to assign a different IP address while printing, this can cause interruptions. Actually, assign a static IP address to every device on the network; this can prevent temporary network disconnects and causes a device to connect to the network faster, because it doesn't have to negotiate with the router. BTW I speak from experience!
Some responses in this forum recommend restarting the router to fix a printer's defective network connection. If your router is not an antique, it is simpler to open the printer's network settings and press the router's WPS button. This has worked for me on multiple occasions.
You need to be patient. Sometimes HP Smart cannot find the printer initially. Wait for 1 minute and it should connect. I suspect that delays are often caused because of the interaction with the HP web server, but I don't have any evidence.
