I had this problem in early January and paid to get advice from HP by telephone. on how to fix it. Now the same problem has come up and using the same advice I could NOT fix it. In Settings I removed the printer and re-installed it. The printer I want is not available, so I went to manual installation using the IP adress. The printer is noted with a green tick but it is offline and the words "Some action is needed" appeared. The printer actually printed out the Windows Test Page for Printers where it states "You have installed the printer on your lapyop", but I still cannot print anything
When I try the printer is shown with a green tick but with the words "User action required"
Can you help?

@hibernia, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I see that you are not able to print from the Win PC. To assist you better, is the printer connected wirelessly?
Check the connectivity.
- Restart the router, the printer, and the PC
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue
Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.
If the issue persists, print a Network Configuration Page to make sure that the printer is on the same network as the computer.
On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button
and the Information button
at the same time.
Both a Network Configuration Page and a Wireless Network Test Report print.
Install the printer using the TCP/IP port:
Check for any pending Windows updates first.
- On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Remove the existing printer entry > click on Add a printer(at the top)
- Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
- Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
- Find the IP address of the printer on the wireless test page.
- Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
- Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
Try printing.
Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
