I have had horrendous problems with slow broadband speeds for 6 months or so.  BT/Open Reach have responded to issues raised a number of times and the latest engineer advised that my problems were being caused by REIN interference.  He also advised how to identify the offending device (tune into 612 Khz on AM radio and walk around pointing the antenna at devices).  It quickly became clear that going anywhere near the HP Laserjest caused a piercing screech from the radio.

I have read a little about REIN and tried to follow the steer to set a fixed IP address (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printers-Archive-Read-Only/HP-Printer-interfering-with-signal-from-Net...) but the interference remains.  Is there any way to stop the interference other than my current method which is to switch off the printer?

HP tests their equipment extensively and that amount of interference does not sound normal at all and suggests a physical problem with the system.
