If your HP printer is showing as offline, even though it's powered on and connected, here are several steps you can take to bring it back online:

1. Check Physical Connections

  • If it's a USB printer, make sure the cable is securely connected.
  • If it's a Wi-Fi printer, ensure it's connected to the correct network.
  • Restart both the printer and your computer.


2. Set Printer to Online Manually

  1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your HP printer and select See what’s printing.
  3. In the new window, click Printer in the menu bar.
  4. Uncheck Use Printer Offline if it's selected.


3. Set as Default Printer

  • In Devices and Printers, right-click your HP printer and choose Set as default printer.


4. Restart the Print Spooler Service

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Scroll down to Print Spooler.
  3. Right-click and choose Restart.


5. Reinstall the Printer

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Remove the printer.

Click Add device to reinstall it.
