@mik1943, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Even though the blue light is on (suggesting it's connected to Wi-Fi), the printer might not be properly communicating with the network or the HP Smart app.
Here are some steps to help resolve this:
Restart Devices:
- Power off the printer, your phone/computer, and your Wi-Fi router.
- Wait 30 seconds, then power them back on.
Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone or computer.
- On the printer, go to Wireless Settings > Wireless Network Test or Print Network Configuration Page to verify connection.
Re-add Printer in HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Tap the "+" to add a new printer.
- If it doesn’t appear, tap "Set up a new printer" and follow the on-screen steps.
Reset Network Settings on Printer:
- On the printer, go to Settings > Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults.
- Then reconfigure the Wi-Fi setup using the HP Smart app.
Update HP Smart App:
- Make sure the app is updated to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
