I am using openSUSE tumbleweed with GNOME
the printer can connect just fine when going through normal setup through YAST printer. The problem is that if I try to print nothing happens. My computer goes through the process as if it’s printing but it just doesn’t. This includes attempting a test page through YAST printer or GNOME print settings.
when I try to use the special HP setup process or the HP device manager, I get an error that says “HPLIP cannot detect printers on your network” It gives me a link to that promises a guide to fix the problem which contains no relevant information. It tells me to change certain things in firewall. I activated the protocols it wanted in system, trusted, and another one, and it didn’t work. Not sure what to try anymore. Please help
i know it’s not an issue with the printer itself since printing from usb works, and I know it’s Linux specific since Windows works fine aswell. It’s not urgent since I can just dual boot into windows for printing, but that’s quite annoying and I’d rather not.
