Common problems for Connectivity Issues

printer does not exist , cannot connect with iPhone or Mac book

If your HP DeskJet 2820e All-in-One Printer is not being detected or cannot connect to your iPhone or MacBook, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

 

Check Printer Power & Wi-Fi Connection

  • Make sure your printer is turned on and has a stable power supply.
  • Ensure the Wi-Fi light on the printer is solid blue (indicating it's connected to a network).
  • If the Wi-Fi light is blinking, it means the printer is not connected to any network.

 

Restart Your Printer, Router, and Devices

  1. Turn off your printer, router, and MacBook/iPhone.
  2. Wait 30 seconds, then turn on the router first and wait for it to fully start.
  3. Turn on the printer and wait until it's ready.
  4. Finally, restart your MacBook or iPhone.

 

Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

Reset Wi-Fi on the Printer:

  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the light starts blinking.
  • This puts the printer into Wi-Fi setup mode.

Use HP Smart App to Reconnect:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your iPhone or MacBook.
  • Open the app and tap on "Set up a New Printer."
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Check AirPrint (For iPhone Users)

  • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  • Make sure your iPhone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
  • Open any document, tap "Share" > "Print", and see if your HP DeskJet 2820e appears in the printer list.

 

Add Printer to MacBook

  1. Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Click the "+" (Add Printer)" button.
  3. If your printer appears, select it and click "Add."
  4. If the printer is not detected:
    • Click "Add Printer or Scanner".
    • Choose "HP DeskJet 2820e" and click Add.

Reset Printing System (If Printer is Still Not Detected on Mac)

  1. Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Right-click (or Control + Click) on the printer list and select "Reset printing system."
  3. Click "Reset", then restart your Mac and re-add the printer.

 

Check for Software/Firmware Updates

  • Visit the HP Support Page to check for driver and firmware updates.
  • Download and install the latest printer firmware update.
  • On your Mac, go to System Settings > Software Update and install any available updates.

 

Perform a Network Reset on the Printer (If Still Not Working)

  1. Press and hold the Wi-Fi and Cancel buttons on the printer for 5-10 seconds.
  2. The printer will reset its network settings and enter setup mode.
  3. Use the HP Smart app to reconnect to Wi-Fi.
