Hi @Tryoung1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To get your HP printer online and find its IP address, follow these steps.
Check Printer’s Network Connection
On the Printer Display:
- If your printer has a screen, navigate to the Network or Wireless Settings. Look for an option like "Network Configuration" or "Wi-Fi Status".
- This screen should display the IP address of your printer if it's connected to the network.
Print a Network Configuration Page:
- If your printer doesn’t have a display or you can’t find the IP address directly, you can print a Network Configuration Page.
- For most HP printers, you can do this by pressing the Wireless button (a small antenna or Wi-Fi icon) and holding it for a few seconds, or by navigating through the printer's menu.
- Once the page is printed, look for the IP address on the report.
Use a Web Browser to Access the Printer
- Open a web browser on your laptop.
- In the address bar, type the IP address you found from the printer's configuration page.
- You should now be able to access the printer’s settings page and perform any necessary configurations, such as making the printer online.
Troubleshoot Connection Issues
If the printer is still offline, try these additional steps:
- Restart your printer and router to reset the network connection.
- Check Wi-Fi connection: Ensure that both your printer and laptop are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Reinstall printer drivers: If you are using a Windows laptop, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, remove your printer, and then reinstall it.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
