Hi @Ram711,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I understand how frustrating it is when a brand-new printer doesn't complete the initial setup because the printhead isn't moving.

To help determine whether this is a setup issue or a hardware concern, could you let us know a few details?

  • Which HP printer model do you have?
  • Is the printhead stuck on the left side, right side, or in the center of the printer?
  • Are you seeing any error message or error code on the printer display or in the HP app? If so, please share the exact message.
  • Is this happening during the initial setup, before installing the ink cartridges, or after they were installed?
  • If possible, could you share a photo of the inside of the printer showing the printhead position and another photo of any error displayed on the printer screen?

Once we have this information, we'll help determine whether the issue can be resolved with a few checks or if the printer needs to be replaced. If a return is required, we'll also point you in the right direction based on where the printer was purchased.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply and be happy to assist further.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
