HP ENVY Photo 6220 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My printer is not connecting to HP Connected while Wi-Fi and net services are working. As a result, I assume, the printer is not syncing with the HP Instant Ink service, meaning I cannot print.

I have tried the main troubleshooting steps, such as turning off the printer, Wi-Fi, and device for 30 seconds. Removing and re-adding web services. Removing and re-adding the printer, and reclaiming the printer. Any ideas

Thanks

Hi @johnmay1

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP ENVY Photo 6220 is struggling to sync with HP Connected, which is preventing it from accessing HP Instant Ink. Since you've already tried the main troubleshooting steps, here are a few additional things to check:

1. Verify HP Connected Server Status

  • Sometimes, HP’s servers experience temporary outages. You can check HP’s support page for updates.

2. Manually Reconnect Web Services

  • On your printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Web Services.
  • Select Remove Web Services, then Enable Web Services again.
  • Try printing a Web Services Test Page to confirm connectivity.

3. Assigning a static IP address to your HP printer can help maintain a stable connection and prevent network conflicts. Here’s how you can do it:

Method 1: Using the Printer’s Control Panel

  1. Open Settings on your printer.
  2. Navigate to Wi-Fi or Network Settings.
  3. Select TCP/IP > Boot Method.
  4. Choose Static and enter the desired IP address.
  5. Click OK to save the changes.

Method 2: Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  1. Print a Network Configuration Page from your printer to find its current IP address.
  2. Open a web browser and enter the printer’s IP address in the address bar.
  3. Click the Network tab and select IPv4 under the Wireless section.
  4. Choose Manual IP and enter a new IP address outside the router’s DHCP range.
  5. Enter the Subnet Mask and Default Gateway from the Network Configuration Page.
  6. Click Apply, then restart the printer and router.

Method 3: Using Windows Settings

  1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your printer and select Printer Properties.
  3. Go to the Ports tab and click Add Port.
  4. Select Standard TCP/IP Port and enter the static IP address.
  5. Click Next, then Finish.

4. Try a Different Network

  • If possible, connect your printer to a different Wi-Fi network (such as a mobile hotspot) and attempt the HP Connected setup again.

Let me know if any of these steps work!
