HP Desk Jet 4155e

The printer was working.  HP update was run two weeks ago and now it is

telling me the printer is not installed.  We cannot figure out how to reinstall.

I  understand how  this must feel especially since your HP DeskJet 4155e was working fine before the update. 

Could you please confirm whether you’re using Windows 10 or Windows 11

In the meantime, here are a few  steps you can try :

1.Remove the Printer Driver

Go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers.

Right‑click on your HP DeskJet 4155e and select Remove device.

 

2.Download the Latest HP App

Visit HP App  and install the app.

This app will automatically detect your printer and install the correct drivers.

 

3.Reconnect the Printer

Make sure your printer is powered on and connected to Wi‑Fi.

Open HP App and click Add Printer.

Follow the on‑screen instructions to reinstall.

 

4.Run Windows Update

Sometimes Windows needs to refresh after a driver update.

Go to Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update and check for updates.

 

5.HP App

Download HP’s diagnostic tool from the HP support website.

Run it to automatically fix common installation and connection issues.
