HP Color Laserjet Pro M478
macOS 12.0 Monterey

I have an HP Color LaserJet Pro M478 with Driver version 3.0 and Mac OS Monterey 12.4 and a Mac OS Macbook Pro M1.

 

When I try to print, the print dialog says Offline (Printing - Looking for printer). Screenshot below:

The printer and Macbook are connected to the same wifi network, and I can access the printer details in a web browser using the printer IP address. 

 

I don't have any issues printing from my other devices, iOS, Windows 10, etc. 

 

If I remove and reinstall the printer on my MacBook Pro, it resolves the issue for about 15-30 minutes, then the issue recurs.

 

I use the HP Easy Scan app with this same printer and the same computer multiple times per day without any issues. 

 

If I cancel the print job, fire up HP Easy Scan, and try to print again, it DOES NOT resolve the issue. I thought it might, but no luck.
