@DPI1, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 is showing as offline on two computers, here are some steps to help bring it back online:

Check Printer Connection

  • For Wi-Fi printers:
    • Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computers.
    • On the printer’s control panel, go to Wireless Settings > Wireless Network Test Report to verify connection.
  • For USB printers:
    • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected.
    • Try a different USB port or cable if needed.

Set Printer as Default

  1. Press Windows + R, type control printers, and press Enter.
  2. Right-click your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 and select Set as default printer.
  3. If you see a grey icon or “Offline” status, continue to the next steps.

Remove and Reinstall the Printer

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Select your printer and click Remove.
  3. Restart your PC.
  4. Reinstall the printer using HP Easy Start: Official HP® Support

Disable "Use Printer Offline"

  1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your printer > See what's printing.
  3. In the new window, click Printer in the top menu.
  4. Uncheck Use Printer Offline if it’s selected.

Assign a Static IP (Recommended for Wi-Fi)

  1. Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer.
  2. Note the current IP address.
  3. Open a browser and enter the IP to access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  4. Go to Network > IPv4 Configuration and set a Manual IP.
  5. Update the printer port on your PC:
    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    • Right-click printer > Printer Properties > Ports.
    • Select the correct IP-based port or create a new one.
