Hi @JRprinter24,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer is printing blank pages when you try to print from your computer or another device but successfully prints a test page, it suggests that the issue might be related to the software, print settings, or the communication between the printer and the device you're printing from. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Check Ink or Toner Levels:
- Make sure your printer has enough ink or toner. Even though the test print works, low ink levels might still cause issues when printing regular documents.
Run the Printer Troubleshooter:
- If you're using a Windows PC, run the built-in printer troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
- Select Printer and run the troubleshooter.
Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver:
- Update: Ensure that you have the latest printer driver installed. Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
- Reinstall: If updating doesn’t help, uninstall the printer driver from your computer, restart, and reinstall the latest driver.
Check Print Settings:
- Make sure the correct printer is selected as the default printer.
- Open the print dialog and check that the correct paper size, type, and orientation are selected.
- Ensure that the "Print in Grayscale" option is not enabled unless you're printing a black-and-white document.
Clear Print Queue:
- Cancel all pending print jobs, restart the printer, and try printing again.
Try Printing from a Different Program:
- If the issue occurs only with a specific application (e.g., Word, PDF viewer), try printing from another application to see if the problem persists.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Some printers may have firmware updates available that could fix bugs or improve performance. Check for firmware updates on the HP website.
Test with a Different Device:
- If possible, try printing from a different device (another computer, tablet, or smartphone) to see if the problem is with the printer or the device you are currently using.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on. This might reset any temporary issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
