Hello,
I have a HP DeskJet 2755e printer that I connect with a USB cord to my Dell Chromebook. I am a teacher and use this printer at school. I have noticed that each time I print, the bottom of my documents are getting cut off or it is pushing everything closer to the top of the page. I have searched endlessly for a solution to this and am not having much luck in how to solve the issue. I read where people have said to check the printer settings, but when I go to my printer settings, none of the options that people have suggested are listed on my printer settings. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Welcome to the HP English Community --
This DeskJet printer requires a larger margin along the bottom edge of the printed page.
AND
Changing the orientation to Landscape merely moves the larger margin limitation to the side.
=====================================
Printing - Important -
This printer requires a larger margin along the bottom edge (1/2 inch).
Borderless Printing | No |
Print Margin Bottom (A4) | 12.7 mm |
Print Margin Left (A4) | 3 mm |
Print Margin Right (A4) | 3 mm |
Print Margin Top (A4) | 3 mm |
There is no software, firmware, or alignment that changes the larger margin requirement.
The solution to "chopped off" is to keep all data inside of 1/2 inch / 12.7mm on the bottom edge.
This limitation includes all text, images, page numbers, footer information, cells, tables, lines, other notations, and all file types, too.
Create your original document with 12.7mm ( 1/2 inch ) margins.

Thank you so much! That makes sense. I am glad to know that there is really nothing I can do to solve it besides change the margins on documents I create. Do you know what type of HP Printer would be good to buy that does not require the larger margins?

You are welcome.
Unfortunately, sometimes the answer is just not the one we want to provide.
All except the entry-level DeskJet printers will generally provide both Borderless (at least on some paper sizes / types) and decent margins.
Inkjet Printers of this type generally include Envy and OfficeJet.
None of these models are as inexpensive as are the entry level DeskJet printers.
Printers are in that category of "you get what you pay for".
Were it mine to do, I'd start at the HP Store.
The HP Store only sells current models of any device that are created for the market in which they are sold.
Once a model is no longer manufactured, it is not sold at the HP Store.
Some models are manufactured for other sellers -- for example, HP manufactures and sells models at Walmart that are not available at the HP Store. This is not a trick -- models differ by the market for which they are created. READ the specifications on any device to determine how it compares to the models of that device sold at the HP Store.

--------------------------------------------------
First, consider how you are using the printer.
A high-end "do everything" printer can be a good investment if your needs match the expense.
Should you dislike depending on simple buttons and lights to understand what the printer is trying to communicate, look for a printer that includes a full touchscreen Printer Control Panel.
For example,
A DeskJet can make a single sided Copy - no frills.
A printer that includes a full range Printer Control Panel might include COPY and Resize options.
Some printers, for example, some mid-range and better models with an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), can copy 2-sided to 2-sided.
Perhaps start at the top -
At this writing, the top OfficeJet Pro model available at the HP Store is the HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e
For every printer you like or want to consider --
READ the Specifications - Make a list of the options you like (or need).
For example, the OfficeJet Pro 9135e model (but few others) includes automatic 2-sided scan.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Next, look at the price --
Check for printers in your investment range -
Read the specifications for each.
Be careful -- if an option is not listed, the printer does not likely support or offer that feature.
Confused?
Ask here about a particular model or contact the HP Store customer service department.
A sales representative should be able to answer questions about models and options.
================================================
Dragon Opinion
On any current model (for example, the 9135e),
Instant Ink is always optional.
The Print-by-Page subscription model, coupled with the requirements for the service, can be useful or NOT depending on how you use the printer.
On any current "e" model and where offered,
HP+ Service is optional.
The extra year of Warranty comes with extra features and also requirements.
Do not sign up for either service without understanding what is included and what is required on your side.
AND
Ask if you are not sure -- we can direct you to where and how to find the details of what you need to make an informed decision.
