Every 4 or 5 weeks i have to sit and type my wifi password back in. The printer can find the network no problem. There seems no method to store the password so that, if it does go offline, it can reconnect itself. Each time I have got to sit and type in the passcode which is 16 characters long in capitals and lower keys and in numbers and letters. it takes ages.

Hi @Dory2024 ,
Thank you for your reply
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing a printer that frequently forgets its WiFi password can be quite frustrating. Here are some steps and tips that might help you resolve this issue with your HP ENVY Inspire 7900e series printer:
1. Firmware Update Update the firmware on an HP printer
Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Manufacturers often release updates that fix connectivity issues.
Steps:
- Access the printer's control panel.
- Navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware.
2. Router Settings
Check your router settings to ensure that it's not causing the disconnection. Sometimes, routers have settings that can disconnect devices.
Steps:
- Log in to your router's admin panel.
- Look for settings related to DHCP lease time and increase it if possible.
- Ensure the router's firmware is up to date.
3. Static IP Address
Assigning a static IP address to your printer can help maintain a stable connection.
Steps:
- Log in to your router's admin panel.
- Find the DHCP settings and reserve an IP address for your printer based on its MAC address.
- Set the static IP address on the printer through the control panel or during the WiFi setup.
4. HP Smart App HP printer setup (HP Smart app) | HP® Support
Use the HP Smart app to manage your printer settings. This can sometimes streamline the setup process and avoid the issue of re-entering the WiFi password.
Steps:
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer.
- Open the app and follow the instructions to add your printer.
- Use the app to manage WiFi settings and other configurations.
5. Power Saving Settings
Check if there are any power-saving settings on the printer that might be causing it to disconnect from the WiFi network.
Steps:
- Access the printer's control panel.
- Navigate to Setup > Preferences or Eco Mode.
- Adjust settings to prevent the printer from entering deep sleep modes.
6. Network Reset
Perform a network reset on your printer to clear any previous network settings that might be causing conflicts.
Steps:
- Access the printer's control panel.
- Navigate to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
- Reconnect the printer to your WiFi network.
Additional Tip: Use a Simple Password
If possible, consider simplifying your WiFi password. A complex password is good for security, but if it's causing frequent issues, finding a balance between security and convenience might help.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
