Please can anyone help me. I’ve followed all the instructions to help reconnect my printer to the WiFi but the blue light is still flashing and not picking it up. Any ideas please. Thanks in advance.

Hi @Sophie140,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP DeskJet 2820e is having trouble reconnecting to WiFi. Here's a step-by-step guide to help troubleshoot the issue.
Check Your Router and WiFi
- Make sure your router is on and your WiFi is working correctly. Try connecting another device to ensure the connection is stable.
- Ensure that the WiFi network is 2.4 GHz, as some HP printers do not support 5 GHz.
Restart the Printer
- Turn off your printer and unplug it for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on again. Sometimes a restart can resolve the issue.
Reconnect to WiFi via Control Panel
- On the printer's control panel, press the WiFi button. The blue light will begin to flash.
- Press and hold the WiFi button for about 5 seconds until the light starts blinking faster, indicating the printer is in Wi-Fi setup mode.
Use the HP Smart App (Optional)
- Open the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
- Select Add Printer and follow the on-screen prompts to reconnect your printer to Wi-Fi.
Manual Wi-Fi Setup via WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
If your router supports WPS:
- Press the WPS button on your router.
- Within two minutes, press and hold the Wi-Fi button on your printer until the blue light flashes rapidly.
- Your printer should connect to the Wi-Fi network.
Reset Network Settings
- If the above steps don’t work, reset the network settings on the printer:
- Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons on the printer simultaneously for 5 seconds.
- The blue light should stop flashing, indicating a reset.
- Try reconnecting to the WiFi again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
