Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I have restarted my computer and printer numerous times and it still says the printer is not connected. They are both connected to the same internet. Sometimes, rarely, the printer all of a sudden works some days but other days the system turns on but never connects

You did not mention the model of the printer but I suspect it can operate at 2.4 or 5ghz.   The problem is probably because the SSID of both bands is the same and the printer gets a different IP address when it wakes up from sleep depending on which band it is assigned by the modem.

Make the printer use only the 2.4ghz band. At the printers control panel look for the option to select 2.4, 5ghz or "auto" and select 2.4. If the printer does not have those options then you will have to log into the modem and rename one of the bands.

When logged into the modem, look for the MAC or IP of the printer and assign the ip address as fixed.  That is usually in the DHCP menu of the modem.

The printer needs to connect to the modem at 2.4ghz and it needs to have a fixed IP address so it gets the same one all the time. Once you set that up then you can have all your PCs and devices "find" the printer in the OS.

Let me know if you need help accessing or changing the modem setup.

Please provide the Product ID or Model name of the printer for better assistance.
