My printer worked ok for many years. All of a sudden, it is not recognized by my WLAN anymore. When I restart the system, it prints one document out of the printing queue, and that's it. Somewhere it says afterwards, that the printer is offline.

Hi @RainerNanz
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your printer is encountering issues with staying connected to your WLAN (Wi-Fi network), and this can happen for a variety of reasons. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check the Printer's Connection
- Confirm Wi-Fi Connection: First, check that your printer is still connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. Many printers display network information on their screen (if it has one). You can usually print a network configuration page from the printer's settings menu to verify its connection status.
- If the printer isn't connected to Wi-Fi, you may need to reconnect it by going through the Wi-Fi setup process again (via the printer's display or control panel).
- Make sure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer or device.
2. Restart Your Router, Printer, and Computer
- Power cycle all devices involved:
- Turn off your printer.
- Unplug your router for about 10 seconds and plug it back in to reset the connection.
- Restart your computer.
- After the router and devices restart, turn the printer back on.
3. Check Printer's IP Address
Sometimes, your printer might lose its IP address or it may be assigned a new one by the router, which could cause issues with communication.
- You can print a network configuration page (check your printer's manual for the exact steps).
- On the printed page, locate the IP address assigned to the printer.
- Make sure the IP address is within the same range as your other devices (for example, 192.168.1.x).
4. Re-add Printer to Your Computer
If the printer still isn't recognized after restarting the devices, you might need to remove and re-add the printer on your computer.
For Windows:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Find your printer in the list, click on it, and choose Remove Device.
- Click Add a Printer or Scanner and wait for your printer to appear in the list.
- Select the printer and click Add Device.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
