Hi @Mooncookie78,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 All-in-One Printer is constantly losing its connection, here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength
- Ensure your printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router. If it's too far from the router, the connection can be unstable.
- Move the printer closer to the router or consider using a Wi-Fi extender if necessary.
2. Restart Devices
- Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, wait 10-15 seconds, and turn it back on.
- Restart Router: Unplug the router, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in to refresh the network.
- Restart Computer: If you're printing from a computer, restart it to ensure it's properly communicating with the printer.
3. Update Firmware and Software Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Printer Firmware: Check for firmware updates on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025. You can do this through the printer's control panel under "Settings" > "Printer Maintenance" > "Update the Printer".
- HP Smart App: Ensure the HP Smart app or any other software you are using on your computer is up to date.
4. Check Network Settings
- Reconfigure Network Settings: Sometimes the printer can lose connection if there are network changes. You can reset the network settings on the printer and reconnect it to your Wi-Fi:
- On the printer, go to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Defaults.
- Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network via the setup wizard.
5. Assign a Static IP Address
- Assigning a static IP address to the printer can help maintain a stable connection. You can do this via the printer’s control panel or through your router’s DHCP settings.
6. Check for Interference
- Wireless Interference: Other devices (such as microwaves or cordless phones) may interfere with your Wi-Fi connection. Ensure these devices are not placed near the printer or router.
7. Reinstall Printer
- If the issue persists, remove the printer from your computer’s list of devices and reinstall it. You can do this from the Control Panel on your PC or the HP Smart app.
8. Check Router Settings
- Ensure your router settings are compatible with the printer. Some routers have settings like Auto-Channel or 5GHz band that may cause issues with older printers or certain configurations.
- Switch your printer to the 2.4 GHz band if it is currently on 5 GHz, as 2.4 GHz generally offers better range for printers.
9. Reset Printer
- As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer to return it to its default settings. Be sure to note any custom settings you may need to re-enter.
