I have a HP Laserjet M209dw that I have set up a while ago but did not use till now. When I tried printing it says printer offline.
The Configuration report tells me that the wireless network is ON but not connected.
Having limited abilities to solve computer related problems, I wonder what I need to do to get this silly printer print.

@SwissLady0108, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding "Printer Offline" Issue for HP LaserJet M209dw!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP LaserJet M209dw is indicating that it's offline and the wireless network is on but not connected, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check Wireless Connection:
- Ensure the printer's wireless settings are correctly configured. Go to the printer's control panel, navigate to Wi-Fi settings, and verify that Wi-Fi is enabled.
- Make sure that the printer is within range of your wireless router.
Restart Devices:
- Turn off your printer, computer, and the wireless router.
- Restart the router first, then wait for it to be fully operational.
- Turn on the printer and then your computer.
Verify Connection:
- Use the printer's menu to print a Wireless Network Test Report. This can help diagnose if there are any issues with the connection settings.
- Ensure the wireless network name (SSID) matches correctly with your network.
Check Network Configuration:
- Confirm that your printer is connected to the correct network. Sometimes, devices can connect to nearby networks instead of yours.
- Verify the IP address assigned to the printer matches the one on your network.
Adjust Firewall Settings:
- Temporarily disable any firewall security software running on your computer that could be blocking the connection to the printer.
Set Printer Online:
- On Windows:
- Go to "Devices and Printers" from the Control Panel.
- Locate your printer, right-click on it, and select "Use Printer Online".
- On Mac OS X:
- Go to "System Preferences", then "Printers & Scanners".
- Select the printer and make sure it is not paused.
Fix Network Settings:
- If the printer was set up for a fixed IP address or hostname, ensure these are configured correctly in the printer settings and network configuration.
- You can set a fixed IP address to prevent issues with DHCP settings.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
