About a month ago we quit using HP insta-ink. Went online and bought different cartridges. Have installed them but can not get printer to print wirelessly. Everything says printer is off line and can not get it back on line. I've unplugged the printer, shut everything down and restarted it, restarted the modem router, etc etc. and NO GO. Any help????

Hi @HOCKEY181,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We understand you've recently discontinued HP Instant Ink and are now experiencing issues printing wirelessly, with your printer showing as offline. We’re here to help.
To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:
1. Confirm Cartridge Type
Ensure that you are using genuine standard HP cartridges and not Instant Ink cartridges. After cancelling Instant Ink, any remaining Instant Ink cartridges will no longer function and must be replaced with standard HP cartridges specific to your printer model.
2. Restore Network Settings
Resetting the network settings on your printer will allow it to reconnect to your current wireless network:
- For printers with a display: Navigate to Settings > Network Settings > Restore Network Settings.
- For printers without a display: Press and hold the Wi-Fi button and Cancel button together for 5–10 seconds until the wireless light begins to blink. This will put the printer in setup mode.
3. Reconnect Using the HP Smart App
- Download or open the HP Smart app on your device.
- Remove any old printer entries.
- Tap “Set Up a New Printer” and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to your new Wi-Fi network.
4. Check Printer Status on Your Device
- On Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Right-click your HP printer and select Set as Default Printer, then choose Use Printer Online if it shows as offline.
- On Mac: Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your HP printer, and ensure it is not paused or offline.
5. Restart Devices
Power cycle your router, computer, and printer to refresh the connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
