Hello

My printer was working fine and all of a sudden it shows as offline on my PC (mobile phone is online)

I have followed the guides and it still won't connect to PC. Keeps staying its offline.

I have a solid blue wifi light on the printer but for some reason I can't get it to connect to the PC

Try resetting, there appear to be two ways  and a third is secret it seems.

I think this is the secret menu reset.

Thanks for the response.

I had my printer connect previously, all off a sudden HP Smart says its offline, however my phone is still connected and can print from.

The video is something I have already tried,
I have reset the printer to factory settings and reinstalled and still does not connect to my PC.

I am running HP Print and Scan doctor,

After entering my admin and password details, it has been on this screen for last 10 mins and hasn't moved.

Possibly you have a real hardware problem.

I did find another video on how to reset the 7020.  The video mentions 7040 but in the comments someone says it worked on the 7020

If your printer is hung up it probably cannot get anymore damaged,. but try that above "secret" at your own risk

Can you connect the printer directly to router or PC just to verify the problem is not the WiFI?

Seem to have resolved it. What I did was

1. Factory reset settings

2. Wouldnt connect to my 2.4Ghz channel so created another one called ####2.4GhzEXT

and it seems to work now.

I am glad you got it working.  Only recent printers support the 5ghz band. I am not sure exactly where the problem is but I am guessing the modem or router is at fault since the printer cannot receive 5ghz.

Possibly when you assigned a different name the modem took the opportunity to find a channel that had the least amount of noise.

Some factory resets are dangerous as a complete reset can call for setup cartridges to be inserted and typically those cartridges are long gone and HP does not sell setup cartridges.
