HP Laser MFP 137fnw

Hello everyone, my printer stopped working halfway this morning and it doesn't connect anymore.

When I try to print using HP Smart, a message advise me that the printer is off (not offline, off! But it's on😭).

Already tried to turn it off and on again, but nothing changed. Also, it seems that the printer is not connected to Internet, but since it appears off on HP Smart, I can't connect it manually.

What can I do? Thank you🙏

Hi @Cris_92,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your HP Laser MFP 137fnw printer. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

Check Power and Connection:

  • Make sure that the printer is powered on and connected to a stable power source.
  • Confirm that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, wait for about 10-15 seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.

Check Network Connection:

  • If your printer is connected to a network, ensure that the network connection is stable.
  • You may want to restart your router to refresh the network connection.

Connectivity Settings:

  • Access the printer settings on the control panel and verify the connectivity settings.
  • Ensure that the Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection settings are correct.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes address connectivity issues.
  • Visit the official HP support website and search for your printer model to find and download the latest firmware.

Reinstall HP Smart:

  • Uninstall the HP Smart application from your computer or device.
  • Reinstall the latest version of HP Smart from the official HP website or app store.

Manual Reconnection:

  • If the printer is not automatically reconnecting, try manually connecting it to your network. Use the printer's control panel to navigate to network settings and input the correct Wi-Fi credentials.

Check for Physical Issues:

  • Ensure that all cables are securely connected.
  • Look for any physical damage or loose connections on the printer.

Factory Reset:

  • As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. Keep in mind that this will erase any custom settings.
  • Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
