Hi @BevBJ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 2720e All-In-One Printer is displaying an error status and you're unable to print, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue. Here's a step-by-step guide,

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Make sure there are no paper jams in the printer. Open all access doors and remove any stuck paper.

Check Ink or Toner Levels:

  • Ensure that there is sufficient ink or toner in the cartridges. If the ink levels are low, replace the cartridges.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.

Check Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a wireless printer, check the Wi-Fi connection.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupt drivers can cause printing issues. Visit the official HP website and download the latest drivers for your printer model. Install them on your computer.

Cancel All Print Jobs:

  • Open the print queue on your computer and cancel all pending print jobs. Sometimes, a stuck print job can cause the printer to display an error.

Check for Software Conflicts:

  • Ensure that there are no conflicting software or applications that might be interfering with the printing process.

Run Print Troubleshooter:

  • Most operating systems have built-in troubleshooters for printers. Run the print troubleshooter to identify and fix common issues.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Open the printer settings on your computer and make sure that the correct printer is selected as the default. Also, ensure that the printer is online.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve issues.

Reset the Printer:

  • Consult the printer manual for instructions on how to perform a reset. This can help clear any internal errors.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
