Hi @Vero---
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP ENVY 6000 printer is stuck in Copy mode and the Wi-Fi icon is flashing, which typically indicates a problem with the printer's connection to your Wi-Fi network. Let's go through a series of steps to resolve the issue and get your printer functioning properly again.
1. Restart the Printer and Router
Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve both connectivity and mode-related issues.
- Power off the printer by pressing the power button for a few seconds.
- Unplug the printer from the power source for at least 30 seconds.
- Restart your router by unplugging it, waiting about 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in.
- After waiting, plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Check if the Wi-Fi icon is still flashing. If it stops, it means the printer has successfully reconnected to Wi-Fi.
2. Exit Copy Mode
If the printer is stuck in Copy mode, it might be waiting for you to finish a copy job or cancel it.
- Press the "Cancel" button on the printer’s control panel (it’s usually a red X or a button labeled “Cancel”).
- Alternatively, press the "Home" button to exit copy mode and return to the main menu.
- If there’s a copy job in progress, the printer should cancel it after pressing Cancel or Home.
3. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi
The flashing Wi-Fi icon indicates that the printer is not connected to the Wi-Fi network. Here's how to reconnect it:
- On the printer's control panel, locate the Wi-Fi button (usually marked with a wireless signal icon or a “Wi-Fi” button).
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button for about 5-10 seconds until the Wi-Fi icon starts blinking.
- Now, connect the printer to your Wi-Fi:
- If your printer has a touchscreen, follow the on-screen instructions to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the Wi-Fi password.
- If your printer has physical buttons, follow the steps in the Wi-Fi setup guide on the printer’s screen or consult the printer manual for instructions on how to select your network.
Note: Ensure your Wi-Fi router is operating normally and your printer is within range of the signal.
4. Use HP Smart to Reconnect the Printer
The HP Smart app can help you reconnect your printer to the Wi-Fi network and reset settings.
- Install HP Smart (if you haven't already) from the Microsoft Store.
- Open the HP Smart app and select Add Printer.
- The app will search for your HP ENVY 6000 printer. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect it to your Wi-Fi network.
- If the app can’t find your printer, make sure the printer is in setup mode (Wi-Fi blinking), and you may need to input the Wi-Fi details manually.
5. Reset the Printer Network Settings
If your printer is still not connecting to the Wi-Fi, you can try resetting its network settings to clear any previous connections and set it up again.
- Press the “Wireless” button (on the printer’s control panel) and then navigate to Settings or Network Settings.
- Find the option for "Restore Network Defaults" (or a similar option), and follow the on-screen instructions to reset the Wi-Fi settings.
- After resetting, the printer will return to setup mode with the Wi-Fi icon blinking. Use HP Smart or the printer’s touchscreen to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
6. Check for Printer Firmware Updates
Sometimes, the printer’s firmware may need to be updated to restore functionality. You can check for updates either via the printer’s control panel or through the HP Smart app.
- Using HP Smart: Open the HP Smart app, go to Printer Settings, and check for any available firmware updates. Follow the prompts to install the update.
- On the Printer’s Control Panel: Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer (if available). If there's an update, follow the instructions to install it.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
