Printer has been working flawlessly, its in perfect condition, never had a single issue. The day after the warranty expired, suddenly it stops being able to connect to Wi-Fi. It can see the printer, so I know its not broken, but halfway through the setup process it stops without an error code. Are they pulling some Apple level throttle so I purchase a new warranty or printer?

Hi @dkeck13
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for laying that out—it's understandably frustrating when a reliable printer suddenly refuses to connect, especially right after the warranty ends. Since the printer can still detect networks, we know the wireless hardware is intact.
Let’s walk through a few steps to help get the setup process to complete properly.
Steps to Resolve Wi-Fi Setup Stalling on HP ENVY 6452e
1. Restore Network Settings
Resetting the printer’s network configuration can clear any lingering setup conflicts:
- Press and hold the Wireless button on the back of the printer for at least 3 seconds
- Wait for the purple light to start blinking—this indicates setup mode is active
2. Use HP Smart App for Setup
- Download or open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device
- Tap Add Printer and select your HP ENVY 6452e
- Follow the prompts to connect to your Wi-Fi network
- When prompted, press the Information button on the printer to confirm pairing
If the setup stalls again, try restarting the app and the printer before repeating the steps.
3. Update Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause setup interruptions. You can update it here:
- HP ENVY 6452e Driver and Firmware Downloads
- Download the latest firmware for your operating system and install it with the printer powered on and connected via USB
4. Check Router Compatibility
Make sure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz network, as this printer doesn’t support 5GHz. If your router combines both bands under one name, consider splitting them temporarily for setup.
Let me know how far you get with these steps. If it still stalls, we can try a deeper reset or alternate setup method.
You’ve done everything right so far—just need to nudge it across the finish line.
