Office Jet 5258 I'm trying to reconnect my wifi to my printer. The printer touchscreen does not offer one of the symbols included in my password so I cannot reconnect. Is there somewhere else I can type in my password in order to get re-connected?

Hi @Kathy52242 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're unable to enter a specific symbol on the touchscreen of your HP OfficeJet 5258 printer during the Wi-Fi setup, you may try the following alternative methods:
HP Smart App:
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your smartphone or tablet.
- Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer.
- During the setup process, you may be prompted to enter your Wi-Fi password using your device's keyboard, which typically provides a broader set of symbols.
Web Interface:
- Access the printer's web interface using its IP address. You can find the printer's IP address by printing a network configuration page from the printer.
- Open a web browser and enter the printer's IP address in the address bar.
- Navigate to the wireless or network settings section and input your Wi-Fi password using the keyboard on your computer, which should support a wide range of symbols.
Temporary Password Change:
- Temporarily change your Wi-Fi password to one that contains only the symbols available on your printer's touchscreen.
- Connect the printer to Wi-Fi using this simplified password.
- After the printer is connected, change your Wi-Fi password back to its original form.
USB Connection:
- Connect your printer to your computer using a USB cable.
- Run the HP printer software on your computer and follow the on-screen instructions to set up a Wi-Fi connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
