HP Recommended

I used my printer recently to print and to scan with my laptop.  connected wirelessly.  Now it won't work at all.  I've tried setting up from scratch but won't work.  HP SMart brings up my printer but when I click on the picture of my printer it says my printer is off, even though it isn't!  i've gone round and round in circles. any ideas please?
