HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Normally I can print wirelessly from anywhere in the house but the last 2 days, I am not able to print unless near my printer. I have restarted both the printer and computer. I also made sure both were on the same Wi-Fi as well. Please help.

Hi @sukiki,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Wireless Printing Issues on HP ENVY 4520!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Wi-Fi Connectivity:

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi signal is strong in the location where you are trying to print. Sometimes, moving closer to the router can improve connectivity.

Restart Network Devices:

  • Restart your router to refresh the network settings. Sometimes, network devices need a reboot to resolve connectivity problems.

Verify Network Connection:

  • Make sure your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. Double-check the network name (SSID) on the printer's display and confirm it's the same as the one your computer is connected to.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP website. This tool can automatically diagnose and fix printing and scanning issues.

Re-establish Printer Connection:

  • On your computer, remove the printer from the list of available printers, and then re-add it. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, and follow the steps to reconnect the printer.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Access the printer settings via its control panel or the HP Smart App to ensure Wi-Fi Direct is enabled for direct printing. Also, verify that any sleep settings are not preventing wireless connectivity.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for firmware updates through the HP Smart App or by visiting the HP Support site.

Firewall & Antivirus Software:

  • Check your computer's firewall and antivirus settings to ensure they aren’t blocking the printer’s connection.

I hope this helps.
