Microsoft Windows 11

I’ve been on the phone with HP the last two days for 8 hours all together. I’m just trying to setup my printer to my WiFi. They have done everything under the sun, and nothing is working. I found out my router uses 5g and spectrum did away the the dual router. So I went out bought an extender stating that would work. Called into HP. I was told it would not work.

returned the extender and purchased a dual router.
During the setup process after installing the router. I connect the 2.4 internet to the setup. While it goes through the stages, it gets to the configuring printer, and it won’t configure.
like I said we have done everything from resetting the printer more times then I can count, resetting the internet, setting up WiFi by usb.
I need new suggestions. The router and modem are sitting right next to the printer.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

I doubt I can add anything reasonable to the discussion - seems like most options might have been exhausted by now.

The following are ideas, maybe good ideas or maybe not-so-much...

The source of the problem is likely, as you suspect, a configuration issue and not broken hardware.

There should be perhaps a couple of meters between the printer and the router -

What?  "Too close" is almost as bad as too far away.

Good Reference here:

User Guide

Restart Everything, including the router that controls the network.

Plug the printer into a standard wall socket (as opposed to a surge protector).

The printer will support either 5GHz or 2.4GHz -- just not at the same time.

Printers do not "bounce" from one frequency to another.

The connection can break if the router suddenly shifts to a different frequency.

The basics:

  • Set your Dual Band router to broadcast on both Frequencies.
  • Set up an SSID named network for each frequency.
  • Connect the printer to the specific SSID named network that you want the printer to use.
