I bought a HP Envy 5530 printer back in 2014 in the US. I recently moved to Germany and I am trying to set up the printer in my new home. When I am trying to connect the printer to the internet, it will not connect. On the printer control panel I can see my WiFi, and I can type in the password. But after a minute or two of the printer trying to connect, it says, "Connection Failed" and prompts me to retry, print, or restore previous settings. When I click, "Print", the report says that my wireless router may be using MAC address filtering. So I went into my internet settings and manually added the MAC Address from my printer...and it still did not work. My phone, laptop, and TV are able to connect to the WiFi, so I am unsure why the printer cannot.
I have already tried to restore network settings and that didn't change the results. Additionally, I restored factory defaults, and still not change in results.
I am also using a laptop that has not been connected to this printer before. When I try to us HP Smart to set up a printer, it is unable to find any printers. I am also using HP Print and Scan Doctor, and I am having the same problem. I am assuming that is because the printer is not connected to the internet. HP Smart gives the option to search for a printer using an IP Address. But, as the printer won't connect to the router, there is no IP Address.
Help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

@PaulCupp, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I understand you are not able to connect the printer to the wireless network.
- Restart the router, the printer, and the PC
- Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network. This model printer supports a 2.4GHz network only.
- If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
- This printer supports WPA/WPA2 encryption, check if the router is on the same encryption method. If using WEP or WPA-PSK+FT change it to WPA-PSK
On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore network settings
Go back to Network > Wireless > Wireless setup wizard and select your network.
Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. Based on your response, the only thing that might be out of line is the WPA setting.
In the WiFI settings on my computer I can see under "Security type" it says "WPA3-Personal". In your response you said "This printer supports WPA/WPA2 encryption, check if the router is on the same encryption method. If using WEP or WPA-PSK+FT change it to WPA-PSK".
I am not sure if WPA3-Personal falls into any of the settings you mentioned. If WPA3-Personal is incompatible with this printer, how would I go about changing that setting?
Thank you!

@PaulCupp
Yes, this printer is not compatible with WPA3 encryption. To change this on the router, you will have to contact your internet service provider.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
