I have an HP OfficeJet pro 8025. It says this feature has been locked by the person who set up the printer every time I try to get it to connect to Wi-Fi. However, I am the person who set it up a couple of years ago and I have not locked any features but this one and another feature says it’s locked and it won’t let me unlock it.

@CJsMoma, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Wi-Fi Connection Issue on HP OfficeJet Pro 8025!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 printer is giving you a message that a feature has been locked and it won't connect to Wi-Fi, despite being the person who set it up, here are a few steps that might help resolve the issue:

Check Printer Lock Settings:

  • Access your printer’s settings. This can usually be done via the control panel on the printer itself.
  • Look for any feature lock settings under Admin/Security Settings, and ensure there is nothing unintentionally locked.

Reset Network Settings:

  • On the printer, navigate to the Settings menu.
  • Select Network Setup, then Restore Network Settings. This operation resets all network configurations and passwords.

Factory Reset:

  • Perform a factory reset to bring the printer back to the default settings. Note that this might erase all settings you have configured before.
  • Go to the Settings menu > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Settings.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware. Visit HP Support to check for updates and instructions for firmware installation.

HP Smart App:

  • Use the HP Smart App to configure and manage printer settings from your smartphone or computer. Sometimes, the app can provide a workaround to locked features.

Reconfigure Wi-Fi Setup:

  • If the previous steps fail, try to reconfigure the Wi-Fi settings by selecting the correct network from the setup wizard or manually entering the SSID and password.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
