Hi @Celia1688.
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your printer is not printing due to an "Invalid WPA passphrase" error, it suggests there's a problem with the Wi-Fi connection, specifically with the Wi-Fi password (WPA passphrase) used to connect your printer to your wireless network. Here's how you can resolve this issue:
Find Your Wi-Fi Password:
- Router Label: The simplest way to find your Wi-Fi password is to check the label on your router. Most routers have a label that lists the default SSID (network name) and password.
- From a Connected Device: If you have a computer or a device already connected to the Wi-Fi, you can often find the password stored in the device's network settings.
- Windows: Go to Network & Internet settings > Status > Network and Sharing Center > click on your Wi-Fi network > Wireless Properties > Security tab, and then check "Show characters" to reveal the password.
- MacOS: Open Keychain Access > search for your Wi-Fi network, and then click on it to reveal the password by checking "Show password" (you might need to enter your Mac's administrator password).
Enter the WPA Passphrase on Your Printer:
- Access the printer's control panel or wireless setup options. Each printer has a different method to access these settings, so refer to your printer's manual or online support for specific instructions.
- Look for a Wi-Fi setup, network settings, or wireless settings menu.
- Choose the option to setup or connect to a wireless network. Your printer will search for available networks.
- Select your Wi-Fi network (SSID) from the list.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password (WPA passphrase) when prompted. Make sure to enter it accurately, taking care of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters, as Wi-Fi passwords are case-sensitive.
- Complete the setup and try printing again.
Update Printer's Firmware: Sometimes, issues can arise from outdated printer firmware. Check the HP website for any available updates for your printer model.
Reset the Printer's Network Settings: If you're still facing issues, you might want to reset the printer's network settings to factory defaults and then try connecting to your Wi-Fi network again. This option is also found in the printer's menu system, but be aware that this will erase all network settings, requiring you to set up your network connection from scratch.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
