Hi @Ria7100,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when the printer keeps disconnecting or goes offline whenever you try to print.

To help better, could you please share:

  • The exact HP printer model,
  • Whether the printer is connected by:
    • Wi-Fi,
    • USB,
    • Or Ethernet,
  • And whether the issue happens from:
    • Windows PC,
    • Mac,
    • Android,
    • Or iPhone?

In the meantime, please try these steps:

1. Restart the Printer and Router

  • Turn the printer OFF.
  • Restart the Wi-Fi router.
  • Wait about 60 seconds.
  • Turn the printer back ON.

2. Check the Wireless Light

  • A solid blue wireless light means connected.
  • A blinking light means the printer lost connection.

3. Move the Printer Closer to the Router
A weak Wi-Fi signal is one of the most common causes of intermittent disconnects.

4. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi
If the wireless light is blinking:

  • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel (X) buttons together for about 5 seconds until the light starts blinking.

Then reconnect using: HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site

5. Avoid 5 GHz Only Networks
Many HP printers connect more reliably to:

  • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi

If your router combines 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under one name, the printer may disconnect intermittently.

6. Set the Printer as Default (Windows)

  • Go to: Settings → Printers & scanners
  • Select the HP printer
  • Click: Set as default

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
