Hello everyone,
I'm having issue's trying to get my printer to reconnect to the WiFi in my house. When i first got the printer I followed the set up and everything was fine. About 2 months ago it decided it was going to disconnect itself from the Wifi and won't reconnect. I have tried every suggestion that i can find but, the blue Wifi bars still flash on the printer and wont reconnect at all. I have reset everything but, to no avail. I don't know what to do next as the printer is less than 2 years old and it is needed for work purposes. Any help would be much appreciated.
Kind regards
Kate

Hi @KateDine2021,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet 2710e isn't reconnecting to WiFi and you’ve already tried resetting and troubleshooting without success, here are a few more steps you can try.
Check Network Settings
- Verify WiFi Signal Strength: Ensure the printer is within range of your WiFi router and there are no significant obstructions or interference.
- Confirm Network Details: Double-check that you’re connecting to the correct WiFi network and that you’re entering the correct password.
Update Printer Firmware
- Firmware Update: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes, connectivity issues can be resolved with a firmware update. Check the HP website for firmware updates or use the HP Smart app to check for updates.
Use the HP Smart App for Setup
- Reconfigure WiFi Settings: Open the HP Smart app on your device, select the printer, and use the app’s setup wizard to reconnect the printer to your WiFi network.
Network Settings on Printer
- Wireless Setup Wizard: On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Setup Wizard. Follow the prompts to reconnect to your WiFi network.
Router Settings
- Restart Router: Sometimes, restarting your router can resolve network issues.
- Check Router Settings: Ensure that your router is not blocking new devices or has any restrictions that might prevent your printer from connecting.
Printer Reset
- Factory Reset: Perform a factory reset on the printer. This will reset all settings to default and may help resolve connectivity issues.
Check for IP Conflicts
- Assign Static IP: Sometimes, assigning a static IP address to the printer can help. You can do this from your router’s settings by reserving an IP address for your printer.
Try Connecting with a Different Device
- Test on Another Device: Try setting up the printer on a different device to ensure the issue isn’t related to the original device you were using.
Hopefully, one of these steps will help you get your printer reconnected to WiFi!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
