Hi @Nitaevans21_, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Since your HP DeskJet 2820e All-in-One Printer is connected but not printing, try these troubleshooting steps:

Check the Basics

  • Ensure the printer is turned on and has sufficient paper.
  • Verify there are no paper jams inside the printer.
  • Confirm the ink cartridges are properly installed and have enough ink.

Restart Printer & Devices

  • Power cycle the printer:
    1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    2. Wait for 1-2 minutes and plug it back in.
    3. Turn it on and try printing again.
  • Restart your computer or mobile device.

Verify Printer Connection

  • If using Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your device.
  • If using a USB cable, try a different USB port.
  • Print a Network Configuration Report to check the connection:
    • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button and Information button together until the report prints.

Set Printer as Default

  1. Open Control PanelDevices and Printers.
  2. Right-click on HP DeskJet 2820e and select Set as Default Printer.
  3. Try printing again.

Clear Print Queue

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  2. Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click, and select Restart.
  3. Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all files inside.
  4. Try printing again.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any issues.

Reinstall the Printer Driver

  1. Go to Control PanelDevices and Printers.
  2. Right-click on the printer and select Remove device.
  3. Download and install the latest drivers from HP Support.
  4. Restart your PC and try printing again.

Try a Test Print

  • On the printer, press and hold the Resume/Cancel button until it prints a test page.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
