@Lisa8622, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 printer says it's connected to Wi-Fi but shows as "offline" when you try to print, here are some steps to help resolve the issue:
Restart Everything
- Power cycle your printer, computer, and router.
- Unplug the printer and router for 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
Check Printer’s Wireless Connection
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Wireless Settings > Wireless Network Test Report.
- Ensure the printer is connected to the correct network (same as your computer).
Set Printer to Online
- On your computer:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP 8710 and select “See what’s printing”.
- In the new window, click Printer > Use Printer Offline to uncheck it.
Reinstall the Printer Driver
- Go to HP official support site and download the latest driver for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8710.
- Uninstall the current printer from your PC and reinstall it using the new driver.
Assign a Static IP Address
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Network > Wireless > Advanced Settings > IP Settings.
- Set a manual IP address (you can find the current IP under Network Summary and use it as a base).
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- It can automatically detect and fix many connectivity issues.
