Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I wish to print a Word file on a USB drive plugged into my 6978.  I want it to remain disconnected from my Wi-Fi and from my computer. The printer screem merely gives me the option to 'Print photos.'

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

 

Unfortunately, the HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 printer does not support printing documents directly from a USB drive when it is disconnected from Wi-Fi and your computer. The USB port on this printer is primarily designed for updating firmware and for some photo printing capabilities, but it does not offer full document printing from a USB drive.
