It was a chore setting the printer up to print wirelessly via the home Wifi router (NOT Wifi Direct).
Is now set up and working with either Windows Printer software (for changing settings etc),
or with the HP Printer Assistant software (more comprehensive than Windows).
I have noticed if the internet connection goes down (The Home WiFi Router looses connection to the internet, but continues to function as a wireless router (ie WiFi is still working)), the printer wont print,
EVEN THOUGH the WiFi connection is working (I can print to other older HP printers via the WiFi, and link to other computers on the home network.
Please don't tell me that HP are now making printers that 'Need' and internet connection when connected via a WiFi Router . . . . . . . . internet connections go down! . . . . I don't want to use WiFi direct, so please don't even mention it.

Your printer which is ending with letter e could be from new HP product called HP+. Please read the following article, Looks like it needs to connect to internet.
I do not setup my printers (Canon, Epson and HP (not HP+ printer)) using direct printing, they work even when internet down using the existing Wifi router(home network) to connect. I can also use my NAS when no internet.
Regards.

Yep, like my older printers . . . .
Which idiot in HP decided that an internet connection is needed is a good idea?
The blue light stay on all the time as well . . . . . .

Can't see it?

OK, I have found some links of my own:
FORBES
GlobenNewWire
So it is Cloud based printer . . . . wasn't told that when I bought it.
Explains why it was so difficult to set up without saying yes to all its instant ink a HP+ services.
Don't want any of that.
People will be so annoyed with this SIMPLE FACT: you can't print unless you are connected to the internet, even if your WiFi and home network is up and running. RIDICULOUS!
