Hello,
I have MacOS Sequoia 15.3.1 and HP OfficeJet 8025e.
Everytime I tried to print I am getting the message "The printer is in use" and the job gets queued trying to process forever.
I have both printer and Macbook connected to the same 5G network (5G is supported by this model).
Also I have already tried:
1 - Update software - MacOS is latest release, printer drivers are up-to-date as well as HP Smart
2 - Restarting devices multiple times (Macbook, Printer, Network modem)
3 - Printer reset - adding printer again
4 - No firewall or anti-virus
I notice this issue happening after a power outage that happened this week in the area I live. Not sure whether something got screwed up since all devices turned off abruptly with the outage.
Appreciate your support.
Thanks,
Thiago

Hi @ThiagoV,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
1. Restart Devices & Check Connection
- Turn off your MacBook, printer, and Wi-Fi router.
- Unplug the printer for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Restart your MacBook and router.
- Make sure both the MacBook and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
2. Remove and Re-add Printer
- On your Mac, go to System Settings → Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer, click Remove (-), then add it again using Add Printer (+).
3. Reset Print System
- Go to System Settings → Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click in the printer list and select Reset printing system.
- Restart your Mac and add the printer again.
4. Print Using HP Smart or AirPrint
- If AirPrint works from your iPhone, try printing from your Mac using AirPrint instead of HP drivers.
- Open HP Smart, sign in, and try printing from there.
5. Check for Updates
- Ensure HP Smart, MacOS, and printer firmware are all up to date.
If the issue persists, try connecting via USB and check if printing works. Let me know if you need more help! 😊
