HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My factory support for my printer is expired.

Will this cause the printer to not work?

WiFi light on printer says it is connected.

Computer says it is connected.

HP App says the printer is not connected and that it is expired.

Hi @Shelbygtdriver

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Rest assured, the expiration of factory support will not prevent your HP ENVY Pro 6455 printer from functioning.

Factory support generally refers to warranty coverage or access to certain services like technical assistance or free repairs, but it doesn’t affect the core operations of the printer.

The connectivity issue you're experiencing between the HP Smart app and your printer might be unrelated to the support expiration and likely tied to configuration or software issues. Here are steps to resolve the problem:

1. Restart Your Devices

  • Turn off the printer, your computer, and the Wi-Fi router.
  • Wait for about 2 minutes, then power them back on in this order: Wi-Fi router, printer, and computer.

2. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button and the Power button on the printer until the Wi-Fi light starts blinking.
  • Use the HP Smart app to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network:
    • Open the app and select Add Printer.
    • Follow the steps to connect the printer to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.

3. Reinstall the HP Smart App

  • If the app still shows the printer as not connected, uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
  • Log in to the app and try adding the printer again.

4. Check Firewall or Antivirus Settings

  • Sometimes, security software can block communication between the printer and the app. Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus to see if this resolves the issue.
  • If it works, adjust the security settings to allow communication with the HP Smart app.

5. Update Drivers and Firmware

6. Print Without the App

  • If the app issue persists, you can still print directly from your computer or other devices by using the default print settings in Windows:
    • Press Ctrl + P in any document, select your printer, and print without using the app.

Let me know how these steps work for you—I’m here to ensure your printer gets back to full functionality! 🌟
