Hi @Potwright,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’ve recently switched to a new Wi-Fi provider, and while your other devices are connected successfully, your HP DeskJet 2800e series printer isn’t connecting to the new network. Let’s go through a few steps to get your printer connected.

a. Check Wi-Fi Network
 - Make sure your Wi-Fi is working properly and that it’s a 2.4 GHz network, as the DeskJet 2800e series doesn’t support 5 GHz bands.
 - Confirm that the printer and your mobile/computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.

b. Restart Devices
 - Turn off your printer, Wi-Fi router, and the device you’re using to set up.
 - Wait 30 seconds and turn them back on.
 - This clears any temporary connection conflicts.

c. Reset Printer’s Network Settings
 - On the printer, press and hold the Wi-Fi and Cancel (X) buttons together for about 5 seconds until the Power light blinks.
 - This restores the network settings to default and prepares the printer for setup.

d. Reconnect Using HP Smart App
 1. Open the HP Smart App on your phone or computer.
 2. Click Add PrinterSet up a new printer.
 3. Follow the prompts to connect the printer to your new Wi-Fi.
 4. Make sure you enter the new Wi-Fi password correctly when prompted.

e. Check Signal and Router Settings
 - Keep the printer within 6 feet (2 meters) of the router during setup.
 - Ensure the router doesn’t have MAC address filtering or isolation enabled.
 - If you recently changed the Wi-Fi name or password, remove the old printer entry from the app and start fresh.

f. Perform a Wireless Test Report
 - Press and hold the Information (i) button on the printer until all lights blink, or press i + Cancel (X) together.
 - This prints a Wireless Network Test Report, which can help confirm if the printer is detecting the Wi-Fi network.

I hope this helps.
