Common problems for Connectivity Issues

Chromebook, Officejet j6480
Chrome OS

I have a networked HP Officejet j6480 that I use with many computers with no issues. I have added it as a manual printer on my HP Chromebook. When I initiate a print job from the Chromebook, it gives me a "printing" message, leading me to believe that it has found the printer. However, no job appears in the print queue and no printing occurs. Can anyone help with this problem?

I recommend you contact support to further diagnose the issue.

Here is how you can get in touch with support.

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Cheers!

We are getting nowhere. When I give it the serial number of my printer, it tells me that it is out of warranty. But all I am trying to do is to get a Hewlett Packard Chromebook to print to a Hewlett Packard Office Jet printer, model J6480. I know the printer is old, but they are both on the same network and the appropriate drivers for the printer have been installed on the Chromebook. Why can I not get two Hewlett Packard products to talk to each other? Dave Packard would have your guts for garters if he were still alive today. Won't anyone reach out and help here? If you can't help, please escalate this request to your supervisor. HP's reputation is going down the tubes; I have been a lifelong customer and this is not the way Bill and Dave used to run the company.

Please tell me how to access the private message you sent me. The answers in the community forum refer to an older UI and are not useful.
