I have successfully downloaded and installed  HP Scan Extended using the link posted in this forum.
The program opens fine and all options are available on the main page.
And then once I click the button at the bottom to 'Scan' , the communication to my HP Deskjet F380 All-in-One Printer Scanner Copier is established and I hear the scanner working and completing the scan, however most of the options within the software are greyed-out, including the 'Save' button at the bottom, so I cannot save the scan to a file.
I am inserting a screen capture here : how do I resolve this problem ? thank you

Hi,

Do you have your printer software installed also? the driver software is crucial for HP Scan Extended to work.

 

What exact results are shown when searching for HP within the Uninstall a Program list of the Control Panel?

Yes, I uninstalled and re-installed the printer drivers on 01/23/21 when I first noticed the problem with HP Solution Center.
I am attaching screen captures of the Windows 7 Control Panel -> Device and Printers and also Programs and Features
Note: another member has posted the exact same problem as I am having here :
