I have an HP Ink Tank Wireless 419 printer. My computer is connected to a wireless network which uses enterprise level authentication (802.1x or WPA Enterprise). This type of authentication is not supported by HP Smart app. It asks me to reconfigure the printer to work with this authentication. How do I do this?

Hi @Nishant_A,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To reconfigure the HP Ink Tank Wireless 419 printer for enterprise-level authentication, you may need to follow these general steps.
- Connect the printer to your network: Ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your enterprise authentication server. This can be done either through a wired Ethernet connection or by connecting the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- Access the printer's web interface: Open a web browser on a computer connected to the same network as the printer. Enter the IP address of the printer into the browser's address bar. If you don't know the printer's IP address, you can usually find it by printing a network configuration or status page from the printer.
- Log in to the printer's web interface: Enter the administrator credentials to log in to the printer's web interface. If you haven't set up a password for the printer, consult the printer's manual or documentation for the default login credentials.
- Navigate to the security settings: Look for a section in the web interface related to security or authentication settings. The location and labeling of this section may vary depending on the printer's firmware. Common labels for this section include "Security," "Authentication," or "Network Settings."
- Configure enterprise-level authentication: Within the security settings, you will need to configure the printer to use your enterprise authentication method. This could involve options such as LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), Active Directory, or other authentication protocols supported by your printer model. Consult the printer's documentation or the HP support website for specific instructions on configuring enterprise-level authentication.
- Save and apply the changes: Once you have made the necessary changes to the authentication settings, save the configuration. The printer may require a restart or a reconnection to the network for the changes to take effect.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
