How to get an outdated printer removed from your HP profile which keeps popping up even years after you've stopped using it, or, in my case, disposed of it, can be hard to track down.
Here's how to do it.
Log in (you already have an account which is why old printers are still hanging around)
Using the accounts menu - upper right side of the menu bar - select My Dashboard
The Dashboard screen will list all of the printers in your profile.
The right-most column is an "X" in a circle. When you hover over it with your mouse it says "Remove Device"
Click it - Confirm your action and it will be gone.
Easy
